  • Leu Gardens will be having a movie night featuring the film A Streetcar Named Desire, featuring Oscar-nominated performances by Vivien Leigh, Karl Malden, Kim Hunter, and Marlon Brando. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, and guests are invited to bring picnic food and alcohol. The movie will start at 8:30 p.m. with weather permitting.

    The 1951 blockbuster film stars Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando, and is directed by Elia Kazan. The film adaption of the stage play tells the story of two sisters dealing with the hardships and traumas of their life - one facing scandal and delusions of grandeur, the other stuck in a violent and abusive relationship. The film won numerous accolades when it first came out, and although Brando didn't win Best Actor, his work in the moving is considered a legacy to method acting.

    Gates to Leu Gardens open for guests to set up starting at 6 pm. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 tax for children. Leu Garden Members receive free admission to this event. Payment is collected at the door. Dixieland Food Truck will be serving food starting at 6 p.m.
