A Hero's Welcome Parade

A Winter Park parade in honor of a hometown hero, families are invited to give a special soldier the surprise party of a lifetime.

Parade starts at the Winter Park Community Center, ends at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market.

  • A Hero's Welcome Parade invites the community to help give a soon-to-be-announced hometown hero the biggest welcome home surprise party of all time. This American soldier is returning home from deployment in Afghanistan. Please join us to thank him for his service to our country.

    The parade will feature Winter Park Mayor Ken Bradley, City Commissioners, Winter Park Fire-Rescue and Police departments, VFW motorcycle club, marching bands, the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales and lots of American patriotism. Attendees are encouraged to bring handmade signs and wear red, white and blue to celebrate our brave soldier’s coming home.

    Business establishments along the parade route will remain open during the parade. Business patrons are encouraged to park in the garage at Pennsylvania and Lyman avenues. Parking opportunities for parade attendees include municipal Lot A at New York Avenue and Morse Boulevard, Park Place parking garage at Park and Canton avenues, and all public parking in the downtown area.

    A Hero's Welcome Parade  is on Wednesday, January 8, at 2 p.m. in Hannibal Square in downtown Winter Park. The parade will begin near the Winter Park Community Center located at 721 West New England Avenue and will end at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market at 200 West New England Avenue.
