  • Profile Overview

This stadium has hosted World Cup and Olympic soccer games, sold out concerts, and historic college rivalries. Pink Floyd, The Who, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, and Elton John have all taken the stage here. Today, the stadium hosts the BCS Capital One Bowl; The Classic, a rivalry between college schools Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University; and the Florida High School Football State Championships.

Originally constructed in 1936, this sports stadium has stood the test of time, and after 5 names changes and several renovations and additions, it has gone from its small capacity of 8,900 guests to its current capacity of 65,438. In 2012, a $175 million deal was finalized that will reconstruct and renovate portions of the stadium from the bottom up. It's expected to be completed in 2014.

The Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is located in Parramore.
