  • Profile Overview

Wallaby Ranch is a hang gliding flight park southwest of Orlando, Florida. The attraction features hang gliding excursions and tandem flights that soar over a natural setting that includes seeing Florida woodlands and wildlife. It started in 1991 when founder Malcolm Jones outfitted tandem hang gliders with wheels for easy take-offs and landings. He helped pave the way for a better, safer, and more enjoyable way of learning how to fly.

A variety of flight packages are available for any level of flyer. For beginners, Wallaby Ranch has student packages with 10 or 20 classes. Lesson fees include tows, ground school instruction, all equipment necessary, student training manual and log book. There are also one-time flights available with the Tandem Discovery Flight, and group packages with special pricing. Anyone from 4 years old to 90 years old can do the Tandem Discovery Flight, as long as they're between 35 to 240 lbs.

Advanced hang gliders can rent equipment for the day, or purchase a club membership. Wallaby Ranch has an on-site pro shop where clothing, flying accesories, and equipment can be purchased.

Besides being a renowned hang gliding park, Wallaby Ranch also has camping and amenities. The Ranch is open every day of the year and someone is here 24 hours a day to help you. The flight park offers tent and RV camping facilities, freshly prepared community breakfast, and lunch. There is also a 27,000 gallon, 7-foot deep swimming pool, a climbing wall, and a children's playground complete with a tree house. Visitors can go biking on mountain bike trails, and hike on walking trails winding through the woods.

Wallaby Ranch is located on Deen Still Road, accesible from the intersection of Hwy 27. Look for the mailbox "1805." There is no big sign. Turn down the driveway. Pull up to the office and ring the bell. Someone will always be there to help you.
