The Washington Wizards began as the Capital Bullets in 1973. Their name was changed to "The Wizards" in 1997 due to the violent connotation of "The Bullets." The Washington Wizards home stadium is the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The team has 1 championship title from 1978, four conference titles, and six division titles, all pre-dating 1980. Head coach Randy Wittman brings to the Amway Center top players Bradley Beal and John Wall.
