Bongos Cuban Cafe
Hours of Operation
Fri - Sat: 11:00 am - 2:00 am
Bongos Cuban Cafe at Downtown Disney opened in 1997 and is owned by musical superstars Emilio and Gloria Estefan. The two-story building screams Old Havana, and the architecture is dominated by a massive pineapple-shaped adobe structure that is clearly visible as part of the Downtown Disney skyline.
The menu features traditional Cuban dishes, such as stuffed yuca cups, ham croquettes, Cuban mojo-marinated fried pork bites, ceviche and more. And those are just appetizers. Entrees include a Cuban sandwich, Cuban-style steak and other steak dishes, ropa vieja (shredded beef), chicken with yellow rice and many other chicken dishes, parrillada de mariscos (skillet of seafood), fish Cuban criolla, and much more. There’s also a kids menu, with child-size appetizers and entrees that include traditional Cuban dishes, as well as American favorites like pizza and chicken nuggets.
Bongos has a full-liquor bar, and also serves beer and wine.
The dining room and outdoor patios are incredibly spacious, with seating available for up to 550 guests. There are multiple bar areas and lounges, giving everyone the opportunity to lead a congo line, join one, or sit back and watch.
Friday and Saturday evenings, the restaurant stops serving food at 11:30 p.m., but remains open until 2 a.m. for music, live entertainment and dancing.
Private and semiprivate dining options are available, and events can be booked 12 months in advance. Multiple areas of the restaurant can be reserved, and catering and sales planners will work with you to select the right space and menu.
Ample free parking is available at Downtown Disney.
Bongos Cuban Cafe is located at Downtown Disney’s West Side, across from the main entrance of the AMC movie theater.
