Profile Overview
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra consists of professionals in the art of musical style and instrumentation. This premier performance group plays multiple concerts, shows, and festivals throughout the entire year. They maintain a permanent residence in Orlando and play at various venues, including the Bob Carr Performance Art Centre and the Margeson Theater inside the Lowndes Shakespeare Center at Loch Haven Park.
In their 2012-2013 season, the Orlando Philharmonic celebrated their 20th anniversary. In the summer, they play their Sounds of Summer Series. They provide other similar series spotlighting famous composers and musicians throughout time.
When the Orlando Opera came to a close in 2009, the Orlando Philharmonic dedicated themselves to showcasing operatic music by playing operas including their performance of Carmen.
Free outdoor performances are also played throughout the year.
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra remains a cornerstone of Orlando's culture, and a striving force in maintaining an appreciation for the arts.
