1st Thursdays: Art Under $200
December 5th - 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Orlando Museum of Art
The Orlando Museum of Art's 1st Thursdays is an award winning monthly event with a unique theme, featured artists, live music, presentations, appetizers from local restaurants, and a cash bar with wine, beer, and soda.
This month's event is entitled "Art Under $200 - 'Tis the Season" and will feature works of art priced under $200. This is the perfect event for art enthusiasts, collectors and gift givers of every sort. Listen to music by Afeefa and the Boy, an indie folk band based in Orlando. Food will be provided by Orchid Thai Cuisine, and guests will be able to enjoy artistic demonstrations by Steve Piscitelli and Bernard Martin, or take advantage of a Holiday Photo Op Vignette by Lee Forrest Design.
At 1st Thursday, guests will also have an opportunity to learn about the Red Chair Project and the Florida Artists Registry in Orlando. There will be book signings by authors Marjie Callis, Renee Garrison, Joe Rosier, Scott Vedder and Tony Tapia, and Georgia Williams. Visitors will also be able to delight in face painting by Lori Jessup. Attendees will vote on their favorite piece of art, and at the end of the night, see which work takes home the prize.
$10 admission price includes access to some of the museum's exhibits.
Parking is free at Loch Haven Park and at the Orlando Science Center parking garage.
