  • This year, the Orlando Museum of Art is celebrating their 90th anniversary with special 1st Thursday events. Orlando Museum of Art's 1st Thursdays is an award winning monthly event with a unique theme, featured artists, live music, presentations, appetizers from local restaurants, and a cash bar with wine, beer, and soda.

This month's event is entitled "Beatles: Visual Interpretation" and will feature works of art inspired by the groundbreaking British rock band of the 60s and 70s. Artists for the exhibit take inspiration from Beatles lyrics, music, album covers, humor, movies and antics, interviews and performances, and put a modern vibe to their interpretations. This is the perfect event for art enthusiasts, collectors, and British Invasion fans. Listen to music provided by Premier DJ Entertainment, a Central Florida DJ who will be playing all your favorite Beatles songs. Food will be provided by Vital Flair, an Orlando catering company that serves for events. Guests will be able to enjoy artistic demonstrations by Steve Piscitelli and Paul Vincenti, or take advantage of a Holiday Photo Op Vignette by Lee Forrest Design.

At 1st Thursday, guests will also have an opportunity to learn about the Red Chair Project and the Florida Artists Registry in Orlando. There will be information on the Rollins British Pop Culture Club. Visitors will also be able to delight in face painting by Mandi Ilene Schiff, and browse through Beatles memorabilia from the Collections of Rock & Roll Heaven and Susan Pfeil.

Attendees will vote on their favorite piece of art, and at the end of the night, see which work takes home the prize.

$10 admission price includes access to some of the museum's exhibits.

Parking is free at Loch Haven Park and at the Orlando Science Center parking garage.
