  • All of Orlando is invited to come out to the Bahia Shrine Festival Grounds for Oktoberfest 2013. The event features live entertainment, a spread of German food, fun bounce houses and activities for kids, contests, vendors, and cultural fun.

Try an array of German culinary dishes. There will be brats, potato salad, pretzels, and of course, plenty of beer. There will be a beer stein holding contest to test how high and proud, and for how long you can hold your beer. Children can play in free bounce houses that will be set up on the festival grounds, and vendors will also be present to show off their Oktoberfest wares.

The event will feature live German entertainment by a variety of artists including the Dan Witucki Heimatland Musikanten. Dan Witucki and "The Music Masters Orchestra" have played throughout the Midwest and have been featured at German and Polka festivals throughout the entire country. He performed at EPCOT's Germany pavilion for 14 years, and is recognized by the Concertina Hall of Fame. His band consists of talented musicians including tuba player Claude Kashnig and drummer Ty Baden. Their set is heavily German with plenty of ‘Oompah,’ clapping, tapping, and German drinking songs!

Also scheduled to entertain at Orlando Oktoberfest are the Schuhplattler Gruppe Alpenrose. The group performs their unique Bavarian and Austrian style of dancing at festivals regularly. Their mission is to uphold a cultural tradition that dates back centuries through costume and performance.

Parking at the event is $5. The festival starts at 4 pm on Saturday and runs until 11 pm at night.

Orlando Oktoberfest 2013 will be held at the Bahia Shrine Festival Grounds on Pembrook Drive near Maitland Boulevard, west of I-4.
