  • The City of Winter Park will host the 12th annual Unity Heritage Festival on Jan. 19 and Jan. 20, 2014. This annual community festival promotes family history and raises funds for the Educational Fulfillment Fund to benefit economically disadvantaged youth.

    Sunday’s festivities take place at Shady Park at Hannibal Square from 1-5 p.m. and include children’s games, career booth, food and retail vendors, entertainment, job training and job readiness, and the presentation of the annual Heritage Award.

    The festival continues Monday at Shady Park from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., where Mayor Ken Bradley and city officials will hold a symbolic Martin Luther King Jr. program. There will also be a special dedication honoring Mary Lee Depugh, as well as other events and activities throughout the day, including food and Motown music.
