  • The Mountaintop is a 2009 play about the moments leading up to the assasination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It's been described as a drama with heart, spiritual, uplifting, and hilarious. It all takes place in Rm. 306 where MLK is exhausted after delivering his "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech. He comes face to face with a stranger as a thunderstorm  ravages the outside world. The writer of The Mountaintop, Katori Hal, won the 2010 Olivier Award for her work.
