Tacos & Tatas!

Craving a free shot of tequila for an amazing cause? (Is that a real question??) Rocco's Tacos has you covered!

  • October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a cause that’s near and dear to my heart. I love that there’s no shortage of breast cancer awareness events, fundraisers, promotions and other pink-themed extravaganzas. The way I see it, the more attention the better — so whether you’re wearing a pink ribbon pin or embarking on the three-day walk from Tampa that benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure, what matters is that you’re supporting this incredibly worthwhile cause!

If you’re like me, and more of a champion eater than a champion walker, I have some on-the-rocks-with-salt exciting news for you! The über popular Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar in Plaza Venezia on Restaurant Row in Dr. Phillips is holding Tacos & Tatas, with monies raised benefiting Susan G. Komen. Allow me to highlight some of the most amazing aspects of this October must-do Orlando dining event:

FREE TEQUILA! Shots shots shots-shots-shots shots! As soon as you’re seated, enjoy a complimentary shot of tequila. And if you want to make a donation to Susan G. Komen as a thank-you, even better! OKKKK, so I didn’t risk the embarrassment that comes with getting wasted on tequila shots and involves singing Disney songs in my best Ariel voice, and instead just ordered the complimentary margarita (and donated as a thank-you!). But for those iron-stomach, hard-core tequila drinkers, and those who don’t care what behavior transpires after mass quantities of tequila, you can get even more free tequila when Rocco himself is on the bar — in his new pink shoes! More free shots shots shots-shots-shots shots!

Rocco's Tacos hosts Tacos & Tatas, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

On to the second most awesome part of my Rocco’s Tacos visit — It was Taco Tuesday, so we feasted on all-you-can-eat tacos. And were not talking Grade F Taco Bell tacos. These are premium tacos made with super fresh ingredients, which you can get with flour or corn tortillas. Since I don’t do wheat, I went with the soft corn, and they were ammmaazzzing. Especially after margarita No. 2.

You can choose from any of Rocco’s regular tacos, and you get four on your first round. I went with chicken, steak, mushroom and shrimp. Might as well try a little of everything, right?! If you like one, order more! If you don’t like one, stop eating it and order more of the yummy ones. As we learned from one of the best ad campaigns ever (AT&T, what what!): If you like something you’ll want more of it. We want more! We want more!

All-you-can-eat tacos! And yes — those are three separate platters!

And everyone wants more awareness and more money for breast cancer awareness. (I mean if you don’t than what kind of person are you because that’s really not very nice and you better not take advantage of free tequila because that privilege is for supportive pink-loving people.)

Like I said, everyone wants more awareness and more money for breast cancer awareness. So please, if you’re looking for something to do in Orlando or a place to eat in Orlando, visit Rocco’s Tacos for Tacos & Tatas. The main dining room is huge and decorated super fun, the front patio is huge and has its own bar, and the back patio has its own bar and an awesome view overlooking Big Sand Lake.

Let’s recap the newest addition to your “Things to do in Orlando” list:

Tuesday Tacos & Tatas at Rocco’s Tacos treats you to FREE TEQUILA, all-you-can-eat tacos, support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and free tequila. Oh, and lots and lots of gourmet tacos. And free tequila. And you get the point. See ya Tuesday!
